Unlike previous self-congratulatory events, KITA used the ceremony to communicate with member companies, including presentation of awards to those enterprises that have contributed to the activation of regional trade, encouragement to excellent cooperating companies, on-line questionnaire surveys, etc.
At the occasion of anniversary ceremony, KITA Chairman Sakong Il remarked, ¡°Recovery of the world economy, emergence of new markets, spread of FTAs and a Korea premium through the scheduled G20 Summit are four great opportunities that will favor advancement of our trade.¡± He added, ¡°If we utilize these opportunities well, we can expect to enter the US$1 trillion trade era.¡±
The KITA chairman also declared the catch-phrase, ¡°Let¡¯s become a KITA that is thanked, boasted and loved by trading companies.¡± He emphasized, ¡°Let¡¯s do our best in providing site- and customer-oriented services and spearhead the advance of our nation into a strong global trader (trade G-2).¡±
To accomplish this lofty goal, meanwhile, KITA plans to strengthen support for trading companies with a focus on site-centric trade services, FTAconclusions and utilization support services, facilitation of service industry exports, overseas marketing services targeting newly emerging markets, roles of the think-tank in Korea trade and the specialized manpower cultivation center, and expansion of on-line/mobile services. |
